Remote Tuning

What is a Remote Tune?

Remote tuning is a convenient, safe and effective way to map your car! We tune using data logs from your ECU, reviewing over 100 channels in far more detail than would be possible with real time mapping on the road or dyno. By tuning using real world driving data, superior performance can often be achieved in areas such as startup, idle and throttle response. We produce a totally bespoke map for every single customer, taking as long as necessary to perfect the tuning so that you can be sure we’ve got the very best from your car.

We offer three main services:

  • Full Tune (from £150)- the best option to get your car tuned from start to finish. We will tune all aspects of the map and there is no need to visit a dyno/rolling road tuner after this has been completed
  • Basic Tune (from £95)- If you’ve already booked a dyno/rolling road session but just need help getting the car running well enough to get there, this is the option for you.
  • Adjustments to an existing tune – If your car has been tuned elsewhere but isn’t running as well as you’d like, we’re happy to make adjustments as needed to fix any issues or adjust for any changes you may have made to the car. Contact us using the form at the bottom of this page to enquire.

FAQs

How does a DigiTune remote tune work?

Please see our Remote Tuning Process page

Is a remote tune as good as a dyno/rolling road tune?

We firmly believe that the knowledge, experience and attention to detail of the tuner has far more impact on the quality of a tune than whether or not it has been done on a rolling road. If you require proof of power output for a race series or 1hp is the difference between winning or losing then a rolling road is needed. The majority of car owners will benefit far more from the time and attention we put into our tuning than a dyno power printout.

Why is a remote tune so much cheaper than a dyno/rolling road tune?

We’ve cut out the costs of operating a rolling road, workshop etc and passed the savings on to you.

What sensors are required?

Remote tuning requires a wideband AFR sensor, a throttle position sensor, intake and coolant temperature sensors and a MAP sensor for forced induction applications. A knock sensor is highly recommended.

Do I need an internet connection while driving?

No, you can generate log files offline while driving and then upload them when you have a stable internet connection.

Can non road legal cars be remote tuned?

Tuning track only / race cars remotely is possible but they will need to be driven and logged multiple times in order to do this. If you do not have access to a suitable space to do this then a rolling road tune may be a more practical option.
