Description
Increasing ignition timing can often unlock additional power, but it can also cause one of the most damaging phenomena for an engine: knock. A knock sensor can be used as a tuning tool and allows the ECU to take action if knock is detected in order to prevent further knock and damage.
The optimal mounting location for a knock sensor on an MX-5 is in the position used by the 99-05 engines next to the oil pressure sensor. For early cars with an analogue oil pressure sensor, a spacer will be needed to provide enough space for mounting. Please select the analogue oil pressure sensor type if your oem oil pressure gauge is the analogue type that moves with RPM.
Included in this kit:
- Bosch knock sensor
- Plug and play knock sensor to ECU harness
- M10 fine to M8 coarse thread adapter
- M8 stud
- M8 nut
- Connector block
- Oil pressure sensor spacer (Only required for Mk1 cars with analogue pressure sensors)
Note – for 9697 ECU model, a link wire needs to be soldered.
